Glide Rec is a board of volunteers that operates as a non-profit organization, for the benefit of youth sports programs in the Glide School District.

 

A grassroots idea come to fruition by Dale Bonnell in the late 1960’s. It was geared for baseball and would be called Glide Summer Rec.  It has since evolved into a community supported, full range youth sports program offering football, volleyball, basketball, spring and fall soccer, baseball and softball.

 

Through increased fundraising and support from our local sponsors, Glide Rec has been able to help provide much needed equipment and financial assistance to many families.  Our goal at Glide Rec is to make sure every child has the opportunity  to participate in youth sports.

 

Many dedicated families and community members have given countless dollars and spent long hours over the past 50 plus years to nurture youth sports, but none so much as Karen Livingston. Therefore, we pride our scholarship program after Dale and Karen. Highlighting their dedication to their community, the success of children on and off the field, and above all, for the LOVE of the GAME!!!
